Fell & Sell Guides
Walkthroughs, tips, and deep-dive mechanics to survive the dungeon and build the best shop.
Welcome to the Fell & Sell guides hub. Everything you need to master this roguelike shopkeeper game lives here — from your first swing of the sword to ruthless market domination.
Start here
If you are new to Fell & Sell, begin with the Getting Started guide. It covers the core loop, early goals, and how to balance dungeon raiding with running your shop without going bankrupt. Then read Controls so Tab, sprint, dash, and RMB pricing match the 1.0.2 build rather than the first July demo.
Came from the demo? The Demo vs Full Release page explains carry-over saves, exclusive furniture, price, and why the studio still recommends a new file.
Core guides
Dungeon running
The dungeon is where your inventory comes from. Every item you drag back to your shelves was paid for in blood and steel. The Dungeon Survival guide explains risk versus reward, how to protect your unbanked haul, and when to flee rather than push deeper.
The Combat guide covers shields with no durability cost, dual wield, stamina and mana, traps, destructible rooms, and the teleporter-versus-perk choice at the end of a floor.
The Forest Foraging guide covers the Living Forest — goblin raiding parties, sudden thunderstorms, psychedelic mushroom season, and how to adapt when nature fights back. Underground layers are on Dungeon Biomes and Bosses.
Making money
Fell & Sell is fundamentally about turning dungeon loot into gold. The How to Make Money guide breaks down every income source: selling raw loot, crafting high-value items, completing Quest Board tasks, market timing, and customer psychology.
Pricing is its own science. The How to Sell Items guide covers the pricing formula, supply and demand, prestige, and decoration-driven sales boosts.
The Quest Board guide explains how to turn expedition feats into gold, gear, and rare items between runs.
Shop management
Your shop is your empire. Stock it right, price it smart, and decorate for combat bonuses. See the Shop hub for pricing, Customers, Comfort traffic, and upgrades. Furniture scrolls and the demo veteran piece are on Furniture.
Build variety
The altar system fundamentally changes how you play. The Altar Builds guide covers the Midas Touch, Tiny size, manic and depressed combat states, and how to build around radical playstyle shifts.
Getting help
Every guide includes a FAQ. Patch notes live on Updates. Launch hotfixes 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 already changed furniture grants, FOV, generator walls, and weapon swaps — do not follow a July screenshot for binds or bugs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is the most important skill in Fell & Sell?
Balancing risk and reward. Knowing when to bank your loot and when to push for one more floor is the difference between a struggling shop and a gold-making empire.
Should I focus on dungeon runs or shop management first?
Early game, prioritize dungeon runs to build inventory. As your shop gains prestige, shift toward pricing, Comfort furniture, and decoration so margins compound on what you already hauled.
I finished the demo. Where do I start?
Read Demo vs Full Release, then Controls and Combat. The Shallow Dungeon is familiar; Overgrown goblins and Darkest Dungeon necromancers are the real jump.
Hold Tab or tap Tab?
Hold. Demo 2.0.1 changed the panel so a tap no longer toggles inventory mid-fight. Details are on the Controls guide.
